Have you ever taught yourself certain computer/technology skills?

I kind of know Word and can function on a basic level for Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint. I used to be more proficient. Anyway, I want to become proficient/expert in all of those programs as well as Access, Adobe InDesign, and InCopy. Do you think it’s a good idea to buy a Dummy’s book and just practice all the skills from cover to cover?

Can you recommend any other texts?
