can a degree in Information Technology lead to me becoming a computer technician?

I have been in and out of different colleges trying to see what to do. I want to be able to build, maintain and troubleshoot computers, but I am a little confused in which direction I should go. Into the Information Technology side or the engineering side to become a technician.

I need help choosing one Computer Technology class for Fall semester?

I enrolled in the Computer Technology Associate program with a concentration in Computer Information Systems at a technical college and I start this fall. But I have one extra slot and have decided on choosing a class on computers but need help picking one that would be beneficial for the degree. Which one from the three below should I choose? I’ve been told to upload a personal video response onto the net for a school project but I have no idea how?

I have a webcam built into my laptop and I have a headset with speakers and a mic. Can anyone walk me through how I do this? Do I need special software? Please answer as thoroughly as you can because I know next to nothing about computer technology.
